Our Company History

Carl M. Lieber was born in October 1894. After working for Hanson Brothers Plumbing in Oklahoma City for a number of years, he ventured out on his own. In 1949, he began Lieber Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning.

Carl operated his company out of his residence and garage at 1010 W. Park Place in Oklahoma City until he was 81 years old. In 1972, Carl’s son-in-law, William E. “Bill” Carroll, joined the business. A year later, Bill’s 14-year-old son, Craig, began helping his father.

Craig Carroll, Owner

Craig learned the trades working weekends, summers, and holidays through high school and then college. He obtained his Journeyman Plumber’s license, Natural Gas Fitter’s license, Mechanical Contractor’s License and Refrigeration license.

After graduating from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management in 1983, Craig went to work full-time in the family business. He continued with Lieber Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning for another five years after graduation. At that time, being more interested in new construction, Craig left the family business to work for larger mechanical contractors.

Bill Carroll carried on Carl Lieber’s tradition and continued operating the business until he was 79 years old. In 2008, Craig Carroll decided to rejoin and rebuild the family business with a new company name Lieber Mechanical LLC. The name changed, but the company continued to operate in a way that honored the legacy of the Lieber name… a foundation built on our FOUR Core Values … Family, Opportunity, United and Respect.

Craig, like his grandfather, began working out of his home with a 1,200-square-foot shop. He quickly outgrew this and, in two years, relocated to a 6,000-square-foot office/warehouse at 9700 NW 6th Street in Oklahoma City.

In July of 2012, Craig acquired his current location, a 7,000 square-foot office/warehouse, at 1105 First Place Blvd in Yukon, OK. He recently added another 5,000-square-foot warehouse and acquired 2 additional acres of adjacent land for future growth.
